If you’re a Herbonaut regular, you know that when it comes to CBD products, we are the biggest fans of ‘full spectrum’ CBD products.
Here’s why:
When you take CBD together with a full spectrum of other hemp-derived cannabinoids and terpenes, it’s more effective.
Not only do most compounds found in the hemp plant have uniquely beneficial effects…
In some cases, they work together to enhance CBD's pharmacological effects. This last effect is called the ‘entourage effect’.
Now:
CBD vape products are never truly full spectrum. Because to make hemp-extract ‘vapeable’ it needs to go through a manufacturing process that basically removes most of the compounds that are in the original crude hemp extract.
But if you’re looking for a vape oil that comes somewhat close to a full spectrum CBD product, some of the CBDfx vape juices are the best you can get.
I’m talking about their ‘CBD Terpenes Oil’ line. Any oil from this line is infused with naturally-derived terpenes from the hemp plant. The one we like the best is “OG Kush”.
At Herbonaut, we love our CBD products completely natural, and this product tastes exactly like the OG Kush strain with the help of an all-natural hemp-derived terpene-complex.
While this e-liquid doesn't contain additional hemp-derived cannabinoids like CBG or CBN, it's PACKED with natural hemp-derived terpenes. A significant percentage (13.8%) of this e-liquid is made of terpenes. This is probably the most terpene-rich CBD product (not just vape juice) that we've ever tested.
These terpenes not only give this juice the most amazing natural taste…
But they're associated with beneficial effects as well.
For example:
- β-myrcene (4.2%) is associated with pain-reducing, anti-inflammatory, anti-depressant, anti-oxidant, anti-bacterial, and sleep-improving effects.
- β-caryophyllene (1.5%) is associated with pain-reducing, anti-inflammatory, anti-anxiety, anti-depressant, anti-oxidant, and anti-bacterial effects.
This product contains 17 different terpenes and each one of them is associated with at least one health benefit. And even though the CBD-content is lower than most other options on the list, it may be that because of these terpenes a single mg of CBD from this product will be more potent compared to the same mg of CBD from other products.
It's also one of the few options on the list that comes with a 30-day satisfaction guarantee.
When you look at how much CBD you get per dollar, this product is quite expensive. However, when we look at how much hemp-extract you get per dollar, it's the most affordable option on the list. One dollar gets you 72mg of hemp extract, a large part of that 72mg being terpenes.
Even though this juice has more terpenes than CBD in it, that's exactly the reason why we rate it as the ‘best'.
Terpenes are highly beneficial compounds because they are associated with positive health benefits, may act synergistically to CBD, and give the best taste to CBD products in an all-natural way.
And this is the most terpene-rich option on the list.

- Can choose out of 31 flavorings, and you can mix up to 3 different flavorings of your own choosing
- Great value
- Full-spectrum, but only contains low concentrations of other cannabinoids
- Contains artificial flavorings
Being one of the other options if you're looking for a vape juice with a variety of hemp-derived compounds…VaporFi CBD vape juice is one of the few products that prove with the help of third-party lab-test reports that there are small concentrations of other cannabinoids than CBD in it.
The value of having additional hemp-derived cannabinoids inside your CBD product can't be overstated.
While CBD as a stand-alone compound is effective, it's significantly more effective when taken together with other compounds extracted from the same hemp plant.
Keep in mind that the concentrations of these other cannabinoids are quite low inside this product, and we would definitely have liked to see higher concentrations.
That being said, it literally is one of your only options if you want a somewhat wide spectrum of hemp-derived cannabinoids. When it comes to cannabinoids, 95% of vape products contain nothing but CBD. Even the terpene-rich CBDfx vape juice, contains no other cannabinoids than CBD.
This product contains low levels of THC, which is good in terms of the effectiveness of the product, but if you're regularly subjected to drug-tests, avoid this product.
If you like experimenting with flavors, you'll be glad to know that you can customize your VaporFi juice with 3 different flavors and choose out of 31 different flavorings. This means you can make 26970
different flavor combinations.
VaporFi is one of the most officially certified and regulated vape juice manufacturers in the world. Their manufacturing facilities are FDA-approved and their juice formulations are registered with the FDA as well. On top of this, the individual ingredients they use in their products, like the vegetable glycerine and propylene glycol are subjected to third-party lab tests as well. With VaporFi you always know exactly what you're vaping:
A clean juice with responsibly-sourced ingredients.

Price comparison to averages
While Most CBD vape oil manufacturers are more general ‘CBD-products’ manufacturers…Naked 100 is one of the few old and trusted ‘regular vape juice’ manufacturers that started producing CBD vape juices as well.
With Naked 100, we have known for the last 4 years that they produce high-quality vape juices.
If you’re a Herbonaut regular, you know that we rate Naked 100 vape juices as the best vape juices if you’re into fruit or tropical flavors.
The best part?
Naked 100 decided to keep some of these great flavors (including the ones we like the most, the Hawaiian POG and Really Berry), all they did was enrich the original vape juice with CBD.
Now, if you like to have a good ‘throat hit’ while vaping, this is the e-liquid that you should get.
Naked 100 CBD E-liquid contains a ratio of 70% propylene glycol (PG) and only 30% vegetable glycerin (VG).
VG produces more of a ‘lung hit’. It’s heavy on the lungs and quite comparable to breathing in air with very high humidity levels.
PG produces a stronger throat hit and provides a fuller flavor.
While this product can't truly be qualified as a broad-spectrum product because it contains only very low concentrations of other cannabinoids…
At least it contains them in low concentrations, which is still better than none when it comes to the effectiveness of CBD.
Bottom line?
If you’re looking for a vape product that has the best fruity/tropical flavor and produces the best throat hit, Naked 100 CBD E-Liquid is your best option.

Price comparison to averages
Blue Moon Hemp is another CBD vape oil manufacturer that ticks every box to be qualified as ‘premium’:
- They provide lab-test reports that are available to the public and show what exactly their vape juice contains in terms of cannabinoids. And these lab-tests that are conducted by an independent 3rd-party testing facility. When you check the results, you have proof that you're getting clean vape juice;
- They keep the ingredients simple: broad-spectrum CBD-extract, bio-based (Non-GMO Corn) PG, VG, and a natural flavoring of your choice;
You can get Blue Moon Hemp CBD e-liquid in five different flavors. The one we like the most is ‘Kush'. Although not as close to the original taste of the Kush cannabis strain as CBDfx's OG Kush juice, this one comes very close…
And it does with all-natural flavorings as well (it's unclear whether they use terpenes or not).
Now:
This product is supposed to be a broad-spectrum product, which means that it should contain additional hemp-derived cannabinoids and/or terpenes (not just CBD).
But when we check the third-party lab-test reports, we only see CBD present. This means that these other cannabinoids and/or terpenes are present in very low non-detectable concentrations.
Having trace elements of other cannabinoids and/or terpenes is still better than having none at all. However, we like to see higher concentrations if you're going to advertise your product as broad-spectrum.
If you want to test whether this product works for you, you'll be glad to know that it comes with a 30-day risk-free trial for new customers.
If you don't experience any benefits, just send it back within 30 days and get your money back.

5. Koi CBD Vape Juice (Best Transparency)
Features
- Product-type: Vape-juice |
- CBD: 1000mg or 3.15% |
- THC: ND |
- Other Cannabinoids: No |
- Terpenes: No |
- Price(CBD/$1): 20mg |
- Price(unit): $50 |
- Extract-type: isolate |
- Satisfaction Guarantee: No |
- 3th-Party Lab-Tested: Yes |
- Price-category: Mid-cost
Pros and Cons
- Highly transparent company, third-party lab-test reports for every product and every batch
- Good value for money option
- Doesn't contain other cannabinoids than CBD
- Contains artificial flavorings
- Even though contains close to no THC, there's a warning that you shouldn't use this product if you're subject to drug testing
Another one of the few trustworthy suppliers, Koi CBD is an American CBD brand, which until recently just produced vape oils: it was their specialty.
A few years ago, Koi CBD was the only supplier that provided full lab analysis for their vape oil that showed it was completely clean of residual solvents, heavy metals, and other potential contaminants.
And although many manufacturers have caught up with providing results of independently conducted 3rd-party lab-tests, Koi CBD can always pride itself on being one of the first doing exactly that and helping to set the standard today.
Even today, it's one of the most transparent manufacturers because it provides third-party lab-test reports on a batch-by-batch basis.
But Koi CBD’s transparency and dedication to quality control and setting standards wasn’t the only reason why we always rated Koi CBD so high in the past…
Koi CBD vape products always produced noticeable effects when it came to how we test CBD oils:
- How the oil affects sleep;
- How the oil effects inflammation/pain after a demanding workout, and;
- How well it decreases my tendency to get irritated on a bad day.
Fast forward to today and Koi CBD still provides the same quality as when we first tested their vape oil, 2 years ago.
But here comes the catch:
Koi CBD had 2 years to innovate and add at least a CBD vape juice with infused terpenes. Instead what they did was broaden their assortment with other CBD products that don’t necessarily bring anything special or unique to the table. This product contains no other hemp-derived compounds than CBD and has artificial flavorings.
Despite this, we still rate this product as one of the best CBD juices you can get, because they're a highly transparent company and their product just works.

- Great blueberry taste
- Doesn't contain other cannabinoids than CBD
- Has artificial flavorings
While this e-liquid contains no other hemp-derived compounds than CBD…It comes from a transparent company and it's one of the best berry-tasting juices we have tried.
Also CBD-wise, it will get you the most CBD per dollar of all the options on the list. A single dollar gets you 27.27mg of CBD. Compared to the average of 19.69mg, this is good value for your money.
However, keep in mind that this product doesn't contain any other cannabinoids or terpenes. Therefore a broad-spectrum or full-spectrum juice like the one from CBDfx or VaporFi may produce significantly more potent effects per mg of CBD.
Whatever you decide, all Avida products come with a 30-day satisfaction guarantee for new customers. They make you jump to a few hoops to get your refund though. You have to return the product and pay for its shipping costs.
The bottom line:

Pros and Cons
- Comes from an old-timer brand, they were producing CBD products before the hype started in 2018
- Doesn't contain other cannabinoids than CBD
- Contains artificial flavorings
This product is overpriced and doesn't bring anything special to the table…It contains only CBD and contains artificial flavorings.
But it comes from a transparent company and the product works.
Hemp Bombs has also been around since 2016. Although not the oldest brand, it's one of the older brands that were manufacturing CBD products before the hype started in 2018.

If you have used Hemp Bombs products before and just feel comfortable buying from them again, rest assured that their vape juice is clean and contains decent amounts of CBD.

What Exactly Is CBD Vape Juice/CBD Vape Oil?
CBD vape juice is a ‘regular’ vape juice that is enriched with CBD. It usually contains the following three (3) ingredients:
- CBD-extract, which can be full-spectrum, broad-spectrum, or isolate;
- Two (2) base ingredients that make the juice vapeable: propylene glycol and vegetable glycerin, and;
- One or more natural or artificial flavorings.
Now, these 3 ingredients are the basis. Manufacturers can add other ingredients as well, like:
- Terpenes;
- Other cannabinoids like THC.
But this is less common.
Manufacturers can also add unwanted ingredients or fail to remove unwanted ingredients from their end-product (ingredients that could be dangerous to your health). That’s why it’s extremely important that you only buy products that are proven to be clean, proven by reports of independently-acting testing facilities.
I can’t stress this point enough:
Only buy products from manufacturers that provide a lab-analysis report from an independently-acting testing-facility.
How to Use CBD Vape Oil?
As you would've expected, you should vape this with a suitable vape device.
The products on this list can all be vaped with any type of vaping device that vapes regular vape juice.
We always recommend using low-wattage/low-voltage/low-temperature vaporizers or vaporizer settings.
If you’re looking for specific recommendations, please check out our article on:
But again:
It's crucial that you know your particular CBD oil can be used in a vaporizer.
How can you know this?
You want to be 100% sure that there are no edible oils like olive oil or coconut oil used in your CBD oil.
The vaping of edible oils over a more extended period is dangerous for your health and can cause exogenous lipoid pneumonia (ELP).
Look for CBD oils that are specifically manufactured for vaping, they usually contain:
- Vegetable Glycerin (VG), and/or;
- Propylene Glycol (PG).
And are specifically named ‘CBD vape oil' or ‘CBD vape juice'.
If you vape it, the oil will take effect immediately, but will only last 1-2 hours.
Can CBD Vape Juice Get You High?
Federally legal CBD vape juice can't get you high unless you take extremely high quantities or you're unusually sensitive to the compound ‘THC'.
Federally legal CBD products always contain less than 0.3% THC. THC is the compound that gets you ‘high'. 0.3% THC is not enough to get you high unless you take very large concentrations or are highly sensitive to THC.
Most products on this list contain much less THC than 0.3%. The CBD products on this list won't get you high.
However:
Keep in mind that you may fail a drug test with any of these products. Even though these products contain very low levels of THC, trace elements of THC can be detected in your blood and will show up on a drug-test.
What’s the Difference Between Regular Vape Juice and the CBD-Variant?
The only difference between regular vape juice and CBD vape juice is that the latter is enriched with purified CBD or a form of hemp-extract.
Regular vape usually contains only the following two (2) ingredients:
- one (1) or two (2) base ingredients that make the juice vapeable: propylene glycol and/or vegetable glycerin, and;
- A flavoring.
When you add purified CBD or hemp-extract to these two (2) ingredients you get CBD vape juice.
CBD Vape Products vs Oils/Tinctures
Edible CBD oils (also called CBD tinctures) usually are closer to nature and closer to the original plant that the CBD is extracted from.
Especially if you have a full-spectrum edible CBD oil, your oil will contain countless additional (other than CBD) and potentially beneficial compounds like other cannabinoids and terpenes that act synergistically with CBD and increase the beneficial potential of CBD.
With an average hemp-extract per dollar of 38.48mg, it seems as if vape juices are great value compared to other types of CBD products like:
- CBD oil (average hemp-extract per dollar of 18.01mg), or;
- CBD gummies (average hemp-extract per dollar of 19.34mg)…
But keep in mind that:
The average CBD oil will have a much better cannabinoid- and terpene-profile than the average CBD vape product. Most vape juices only contain very low concentrations of hemp compounds other than CBD.
A single milligram of hemp-extract from a high-quality full-spectrum edible CBD tincture will be more potent than a single milligram of hemp-extract from any vape juice.
Compared to ingesting CBD orally, when you vape CBD, the effects will be felt much quicker (within 5-15 minutes vs 1-2 hours). But the effects will last shorter (1-2 hours vs 4-5 hours when ingested orally).
Edible CBD oils are not vapeable. NEVER try to vape your CBD oil tincture. Almost all of them contain a carrier oil like olive oil or something similar and these oils are dangerous to vape.
And although some brands advertise that their vape oils can be taken orally, I don’t recommend orally ingesting CBD vape oil ever. If you plant to orally take CBD, get a high-quality edible full-spectrum CBD oil.
